“This is my first year running the Philadelphia Love Run and my first half marathon. I’m using it as a stepping stone to train for a half Ironman later in the summer.
My career as an ICU nurse has shown me the financial, physical, and emotional stressors that illness can put on patients and their families, so to be able to raise money for a great cause was a no doubter for me!
My father was diagnosed with a malignant glioma a year and a half ago, which has since been surgically removed. The battle it has brought my father and family has been the hardest part. Organizations like Legacy of Hope can ease that stress and provide some reassurance to families during their toughest times and it’s exciting to be able to help support that cause.”
